Summer Programs: 

Our Summer  2023 Programs:

Summer 2023 is here! We are so excited about all the fun things we have planned for you this summer! Please, view the list below for all of our summer activities that we have available and we look forward to seeing you again full time when school starts again in August! 

Please note: most of our summer activities reach capacity so if you have one in particular that you wish to attend please plan ahead. 

Weekly Classes:

These are a 4 week class meeting once a week (Thursdays) with an optional free performance at the end. 

Classes Will Be:

Thursdays - 

June 15th, June 22nd, June 29th, & July 6th 

With Free Optional Performance on July 8th. (6p- Call 5p)

 

Performance Information:

July 8th at 6:00p (Call Time is at 5:00p) 

This performance will be a completely free event held OUTDOORS. You will need to bring your own seating to the performance. Every Dancer will need to be in a completely black leotard (any style) (Please note: sports bras are not leotards) and black leggings. If you wish to purchase these items from us they will be $45-$50 depending on sizes. 

Please Note: This will have the feeling of a recital not a performance. This is a completely free event with no tickets to purchase. If you are wanting to perform on a budget this is the event for you! 

Sparkle Class: (2 years - Kindergarten) 

9:30a-10:00a ~ 
Class teaching them the Basic Tap & Ballet with flavors of Jazz. We begin to transfer basic knowledge of movements into basic knowledge of dance along with working through class room etiquette.  On June 22nd, 2023 we will be having our typical  "Princess Themed Day" where the class will have a meet and greet with a Princess, story and tea time and a small dance class with her. (We have cheese sandwiches, iced tea, and water. If you prefer to not have your child partake in these snacks please pack them what you would like them consume. )

Bronze Ballet: (1st Grade +)
10:15a-10:45a ~ 
A Class teaching them the Basic  Ballet Movements including a full barre with a section for barre etiquette. 

Bronze Contemporary/ Jazz Combo Class: (1st Grade +)

10:50a-11:20a ~
A 50/ 50 Class Split teaching them both contemporary dance movements and jazz movements.  We will focus on the story telling  aspects of these dances as well as some of the basic moves in each style. 

Bronze Sampler Class: (1st Grade +)
11:30a-12:00p ~
A 25% Split Class allowing them to try Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap. Although, we will not get into huge detail in any area  this class allows students to try a bunch of different styles without having to make an entire semester commitment. 

Silver Hip Hop/ Tap Combo Class: (Intermediate 1 +)
12:30p-1:00p ~
A 50/ 50 Split Class focus on the rhythm and timing in dances. This class will focus on weight changes and technique involved with  where the body is held in these unique dances.  (Please be sure that you are not a beginner! This is not a class if you have never danced these styles before. Please see one of our Bronze Classes if you are a beginner. - At Starbeam you should be ready to move into an attache class to participate in these classes) 

Silver Strengthening Class: (Intermediate 1 +)
 
1:05p-1:35p ~  NO PERFORMANCE OPTION
A Class purely focused on strengthening our body to do some of the more advanced moves require in Attache/ Silver Classes.     

Silver Ballet/ Pointe & Pre-Pointe Combo Class: (Intermediate 1 +)
 
1:45p-2:15p ~

A Class for those wanting to keep their strength/ earn their pointe shoes over the summer. We strongly recommend taking the class right before this one (Silver Strengthening) if you are planning/ hoping to receive your shoes.  (Please be sure that you are not a beginner! This is not a class if you have never danced these styles before. Please see one of our Bronze Classes if you are a beginner. - At Starbeam you should be ready to move into an attache class to participate in these classes) 



Silver Contemporary/ Jazz Combo Class: (Intermediate 1 +)
2:20p-2:50p  ~

A 50/ 50 Class Split teaching them both contemporary dance movements and jazz movements.  We will focus on the story telling aspects of these dances as well as some of the fun moves in each style.  (Please be sure that you are not a beginner! Silver Stretching Class: (1st Grade +)
3:00p- 3:30p ~ NO PERFORMANCE OPTION
A Class that focusing only on stretching the muscles needed to achieve some Attache/ Silver moves. This class will help teach you how to stretch your body and see those gains you need in flexibility.  (Please be sure that you are aware of your body and have the ability to take this class without injuring your body) 

Acting 101 Class: (1st Grade +)
 3:35p-4:05p ~
A Class working on how to better your acting skills. Focusing on Monologues/ Duologues we will learn about characteristics and how to pull those out of ourselves for a performance.   

Professional Workshops:

Workshops are a short class(es) designed to help with a specific skill. Generally Workshops are a single day. 

Mr. Kurtis Nethington - Jazz Wonders
July, 19th 2023 - 3:00p-5:00p
Must be in 1st Grade or Older.
2 Hour Jazz Workshop focusing on all the facets of the wonderful world of Jazz with Mr. Kurtis Nethington a Performance Major attending Drake University!  Great for dancers and musical theater students! 


Colorado West Performing Arts Company - Master Class
August 10th & August 11th 2023 - Times Vary for Class Package (Please See Below) 
Must be in 1st Grade or Older.
Beginning Level: 3:00p-5:00p Both Days
Intermediate Level: 4:00p-6:30p Both Days
We will cover Ballet, Strengthening/ Pre-Pointe, Contemporary, and Theatre Jazz. (Strengthening and Theatre Jazz are combo classes of both levels) 
CWPAC is a Professional Ballet Company . You may have seen some of their most recent performances in our area of Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, or the newest performance Classics, Romantics, and Modern Day Works. There will be two of their dancers to come in to instruct this Workshop. 

Intensives:

Intensives are designed for a particular style of dance and they are designed to grow and challenge you as a dancer. They are not easy and are not for the faint of heart. You need to already have experience and at least be an Intermediate I (That would be an Attache at our studio- unless previously approved by an instructor) dancer in the designated style to register for the intensive. 

We will not be offering any Intensives this summer - due to staffing changes. Please see the many wonderful programs we are continuing to offer; as well as some new ones! 
 

Studio Fun Nights:

These are activities designed for everyone to come and just have a good time being together over the summer. There are no "classes" and no "educational" purposes to these activities- it is just about us coming together to be a family! Although, these are free events you must still fill out a registration form. (Emergency Contacts, Food Allergies, Medical Conditions, etc.)

Ice Cream Social:
July 24th, 2023 - 4:00p-7:00p
Just like it sounds! Ice Cream and being Social, what more could you ask for? We will have an Ice Cream Sundae Bar and plenty of fun games to play to keep you busy. But if you just want to sit and chat with your friends. Please, feel free to do so. 
We invite all studio members of all ages to join us but we do ask that you take in mind the activity and what we are doing. 
 

Please note: unless other wise noted, the minimum to run a summer program is 3 enrolled students at least one week prior to the start date of the summer activity.  - Also we sold out many classes and camps last summer- please register and purchase your classes early to be guaranteed your spot!
