Go Big or Go Home!
If you were my Facebook friend on Facebook and you've looked at my page at all you will see that one of my slogans on the top is go big or go home because if it is worth doing then it is worth doing well.
This is a part of my life and really more my personality. I do everything to the extreme you can ask my husband. It's my reality and I am full in on absolutely everything.
Thanksgiving a couple years ago I was asked to bring desserts. Everyone put in the requests
for pies that they wanted made and desserts and candies and everything else that you could possibly imagine. There were nine of us at this Thanksgiving dinner. Put a long story short I brought eight desserts. Okay, yes, I realize that I may have a problem. Although, I would point out that it is part of how I live my every day life. If I do something I am full out, 100%.
If you've had me as one of your dance teachers for any of period of time I'm sure you have heard me say and ask “was that your best? Because that is what I require from you.” I never ask for more than your best, but I cannot lie and say I'm disappointed when I am given less than your best, because if it's worth doing isn't it worth doing your best at?
I've heard people use several excuses of why they do not do their best. It takes too much energy, I didn't plan ahead, I didn't have the time I needed to commit to it... and the list goes on and on.
But I ask you if you didn't have time to do it right, when are you going to have the time to do it over? If it is not worth your energy to do it right then is it worth your energy to do it wrong? If it is it not worth doing it right then why are you doing it at all?
Our world is too busy, too hectic, too chaotic, to only do things halfway. I challenge you to do things to the fullest of your ability. And yes, that means that there are going to be people that are better than you at some things. But you will be better at some things than other people. It isn't about competition. It's about being a better you than you were yesterday.
Life isn't about sustaining the status quo.
Raise the barre! Because if it's worth doing it's worth doing well!
